It's been a long time...

And Frank's back! YAY!  I always do this - put off writing an entry, and storing all the funny stuff that happens up, and then forgetting what I was going to say when I eventually have time to write about it.

I am completely exhausted, and yet... still awake - i think that the four cups of coffee required to get me through the day have just taken effect.  I physically feel like i can't keep my eyes open and yet - my brain is all lets party!

Just a few updates before I fall asleep with my eyes open...

Frank is home!

The best contraceptive ever is babysitting. I know why teenage girls are encouraged to babysit...

Friday is Playhouse's last friday night show :( at the Calamvale

I am tired

I had a roast dinner for $3.95. How is that even possible?... that's like the same price as a happy meal - I ended up shouting Frank and Kirstey because... well... it cost me like $12. I have paid more than that for a SANDWICH at some places, and yet... three people were fed.  Two words - Bowls Club... (also Creepy Hole), and yet... $3.95 roast dinner?! This discovery has made me feel like such a grandma, and the discovery that I am in awe by it, even more so...  Now that I'm only working two days, I need to look into all these 'bargain meals'.  Note to self: Find out more about this concept of 'cheap food'.

Did I mention that FRANK IS BACK!

Cutest thing ever that sarah said to me when i was watching her last week
"Miss Lauren, guess what... my sports day got posted home because our oval is flooded!"

Also incase anyone wasn't listening:  FRANK IS BACK!!!!

Sleep-typing, my bad if it doesn't make sense....

Crap, I'm exhausted!  This weekend has been heaps of fun though, although yesterday morning... not so much.  This was Renee's weekend off, so we went out on Friday night to see playhouse.  Only two more weekends now before their last night (apart from wednesdays at the paddo) so we are trying to see as much as possible of them before it's all over.

So I can pretty much add black sambucca to the list of alcohol that i should NEVER DRINK AGAIN, even though I probably will. It got to that point in the first set when we all decided that shots would be a good idea.  Shots are NEVER a good idea, especially tequila.  But i compromised.  Instead, we had 3x sambucca shots... which probably wasn't one of my smartest moves, but owell.  WE had fun.

Then last night, I went to Neil's (even though he wasn't there) because they had a gathering.  There wasn't enough people or noise to call it a party, but there was a lot of booze, and ended up driving my drunk-as brother home at 4am.  Also, chirs' mate daniel now lives in our garage (weird, i know - long story) and I really need to do my washing because that's where the washing machine is, but i don't want to wake him up...

This is making NO sense, so I am going to end it by saying FRANK COMES BACK IN NINE DAYS!

Veronica Mars

I honestly can't remember what prompted me to download the pilot of this show.  I think it might have been because in the previews, I thought it would be something that I would enjoy, and the ads said that it would be coming back on next Friday.  So anyway, I downloaded it and I really do love it!

It's kinda like Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets The OC.  Two of my all-time-favourite shows.  I LOVED Buffy.  At one stage, I think I had watched every single episode, and had the first four series TAPED from the TV. And then, I realised that I was a loser, so I stopped taping them, and just watched them.  I was still a loser though, and I didn't have any buffys taped anymore, so I guess I lost on that one.  And the there's The OC (sighs) I love The OC... I don't know if I have mentioned it before?... (...have I chickie?...)

These days, though, I must admit <whispers so THEY can't here me> 'im kinda over the oc'  I think it MAY have something to do with my watching it insessantly for like 3 weeks, on DVD, but that hasn't yet been proven.  And Buffy, well, lets just say that if I was going to be forced to watch the entire series, or poke myself in the eye with a fork, I would probably chose the latter. Especially if it was one of the later seasons... then I would poke myeslf in BOTH eyes.  It was one of those shows that, even though I didn't want it to end- It REALLY should have ended when she finished high school... or even college... or when her 'mom' died...

What I love about all of these shows the very most though, is the way they get 20-something-year-olds to play sixteen year olds.  What I love even more is when they take the piss out of that THEMSELVES.  For instance, in the OC, there's a line between Adam Brody (Seth), who is i think 23, and Ben McKenzie (Ryan), who is 27, where they are at a party for some TV show and one says to the other. 'How does that guy play a high schooler?' and the other one goes 'hollywood man'.  AWESOME.

But wow, I went off track A LOT.  What I ment to talk about was Veronica Mars, and how now I really love it!  Although, I will probably have to either buy the season from the USA on ebay (wasn't supposed to rhyme yay!) or keep downloading it because it is on at the most stupid time ever - 9:30 on a Friday Night- Not even I am usually home then!

What I love the MOST is that all of these shows are recapped on the site Television Without Pity because not only are they recapped- they have the piss taken out of them by the recappers.  I am as addicted to reading the recaps, as I am watching the shows.  They do - Veronica Mars, The OC, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and a whole bunch of others.  It's absolutely hilarious! (rex).

Which just reminded me - Grey's Anatomy is coming back on soon!  I really got into that show in the first season.  Because pretty much, with the exception of Buffy like 10 years ago, and CSI a couple of years ago, it's only lately that I have really been religiously watching TV shows.  It's probably a combination of getting old and boring, and the desire to escape from reality for a while that makes me love them.

Ooh, I have to go to dad's now - Im going to watch 3x more episodes of Veronica Mars (if i have time) and fix his computer... and he bought me Walk the Line - my all time (well since 6mths ago) favourite movie! YAY!

Losing Weight

Rhee: "Yeah... none of my suits fit me anymore... I look like the boy that ran out at breakfast"

.... followed by Neil saying: "Oh, I thought you were going to say none of your shirts fit you anymore - simple solution. Don't wear them. Ever."

Mc Friday

As I predicted, Friday night was really fun, I went to the Calamvale (rolls eyes) with Renee, and the Taylors to go and see Playhouse. (When they aren't there anymore, I swer I will never go there AGAIN).  We had a fantabulous time considering it was 2 4 1 cocktail night!   I had one called a... something that was green, and one called sex on the beach.  And for the first time ever, I have been able to drink cocktails and not be sick.  That's an awesome achievement.

AND I met a South African guy, who said 'That's Hilarious' and 'Excellent, Rex' like the guy from Bro' Town!  It was definately one of the highlights of the evening, the other being Eddie getting more trashed than us, and some random person we met in the toilets cracking up (ooh lame joke) more than I did over some joke Renee and I made in the toilets.  She said that we were 'hilarious' so naturally, I found my new South African friend (i think his name was Sean... but his friend was definately a REAL DAVE! ) To say 'You guys are hilarious' just for good luck.

We stayed until they closed, and walked through the maccas drive thru.  The people at Calamvale maccas must have finally come to their senses and realised JUST HOW MUCH MONEY they are losing by shutting, and only letting cars drive through the drive thru after midnight, especially on the weekend, so they are going 24-7.  Which is kinda cool, but it was fun to walk-thru.

Unfortuately, McMichael was pretty Mc-Wasted, so when they took our order, he decided he wanted a McJuniorBurger, and some McFries, and a McMcMac.  From then on, everything was McSomething.  We placed our McOrder, and went to the next window before we realised that in the McConfusion, he forgot his McJunior Burger, so he and I idled in the drive-thru bay for them to go back and get it.  Literally, we sat there while he made idling car sounds.  And yet, we weren't the weirdest people there - there was a guy sitting in a little garden patch under the glow of a gigantic M on a 1mt pole, singing to himself...

Then a taxi pulled into the carpark and asked if we ordered a taxi for Stacy... which we didn't, but fully went along with anyway.  The McTaxi Driver's directions were McRight, McRight, McRight, McLeft, McRight, McLeft, Left, Left, Right, Left... but somehow we managed to get home without getting the poor guy lost, or spilling food in his cab, and all the people in the street kept their bins, before we went inside to watch RAGE on their new TV.  We really wanted to see how cool the giant mouth that says 'Rage' (that used to make my brother cry) looked on the tv...  Then, the next morning, when the MC Lars song, 'Download this Song' (which i did - what a way to brainwash people) came on, it was hilarious because his name came up on the screen as McLars, and.... well, McDuh...

And they all lived happily ever after, and weren't hungover (well i wasn't!) the next day.

The End.

Holiday!

The time will come when I can explain why it sucks to be me more than usually, but that time is not now, so for now, I will update everyone on what i have done on my HOLIDAYS! Which are almost over, and this has been the fastest-going week of my life in the history of ever!

On Monday, I went up to the sunshine coast to stay with Kaye and Aimee.  She's getting more and more adorable every time I see her! Her ears are still wayy stickouty but it just makes her look really cute...

Aimee

I stayed with them from Monday til Wednesday, and on Tuesday, I went to NAMBOUR!  Now, that's probably not very exciting for a large majority of people who exist in society... anywhere really, and it really is small and far away.  Aimee's dad actually owns a few of the buildings in the main street. And we went to the library there.

There has always been a long-standing joke, that goes back i think to when I was at high school, where the comment "Back in Nam... Nambour that is" originated, and to this day, every now and then it comes up.  When I was in Nambour I took this picture, and sent it to Neil, although, I know he got it and said 'Why'd she send me a picture of the library?' even though, I called the photo 'Back in Nam' but owell...

<Back in Nam

It's really cute there though, and they have COUNTRY TARGET!  Which is like this ANCIENT old white building that looks like the back of a building but is actually the entrance, and my aunty said it has really dated stuff in it, like flannel shirts and old-school farmer clothes... This is the street where David's buildings are

Nambour

Aimee's getting so cute now though, she says 'Oh Dear' and 'See-Ya' and 'Oh Really' And we did colouring, and went to the beach, and kicked the ball, and read books.  She brings one to you, and plonks down in your lap, and turns the pages, and when you finish reading it, she says 'Seeya' to the book and puts it down, and grabs another one, and looks at it, and either shakes her head and says 'Nah' or gives it to you to start reading.  So Cute.

Hiiiii!

So I have had a pretty awesome holiday so far... and it's nearly over! I go back to work Monday, but only for Mondays and Tuesdays... (long story)... Im going out tonight with Nay, so guaranteed there will be a good story to tell tomorrow. :)  AND FRANK COMES BACK IN THREE WEEKS!
