Random text messages saved in my phone...

My phone made an evil beepy sound this morning - meaning there is no more room for text messages!  I randomly delete them every now and then, but I can never be bothered deleting them all incase for some reason I need them.  After going through them, I realised, that after the initial message, and without any knowledge into the context of them, they just sound weird.  Also, after reading this the other day, I thought I would take the inspiration and share.  Once this is over, I am going to hit 'Delete All'.

Human Nature - Ho-Motown

Sooo, It's been a while - mainly because I have been busy, lazy, and then whenever I actually get a chance to go onto the computer, I can never think of anything interesting to say, even though so much has happened lately!

Last night, I went with Nay, Michael and Donna to see the Human Nature concert at Chandler.  We got free tickets from some mate of Michael's, so we went along to the show.  I didn't even really know that they were touring, or what they were singing until we got there.  Before I went out, I was over at Neil's and we were talking about Human Nature, and I couldn't think of what songs they sang, or even who they were really.  Nicole told me that they were '...you know- justin timberlake's band...' which was my favourite thing anyone has ever said until this morning when she asked me if justin timberlake was there...

Apparently it was their Motown tour, and they sang all the songs off of that album, which, incidentally, I had actually heard before, because I bought it for my dad for Christmas.  As much as I didn't mind the music - There was only a couple of songs that I didn't know, I could not deal with the coreography.  I have seen a lot of drag shows in my time (hehe i sound so old and fag-hagish right now) and yet, the Human Nature concert was gayer than any drag show that I have ever been to.

Seriously - it should have been called Homotown - they would only need to add two letters to their sign!  And I never really realised before that one of the dudes in the band is soo much shorter than all the others - like by an entire head-size - it's weird.

After the third half - ie- where we went outside because we couldn't deal - we came back in and started taking the piss out of them, which was so much more fun than just watching them normally.

After the concert, we went to the Vale for a bit, and ran into YO-SIE! and Mark and stayed up there for a couple of hours, watching a band that was not Playhouse, and thus so not my favourite people right now.  Then, we went over to Neils for a bit (even though he is in some place in the middle of nowhere for 4 weeks) and hung out with the drunk people there, which was pretty fun.  This was actually the first weekend in a long time that I didn't drink! YAY ME!  Mainly because I know we are going out Saturday night (wow- I have plans in advance... weird), and then, the weekend after that, my baby brother turns 18, so I am sure that much partying will be had in the next couple of weeks.

I promise to write more soon - There are so many things I have done that I forget about when I don't write about them, so I want to get back into the habitb for my own memory's sake, even if nobody else reads it!   Also - I SO CANNOT FIND MY CAMERA - IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!

Tof-ew!

The most recent addition to the growing list of 'things I cannot deal with' is.... Tofu.  I get that it's healthy and full of tofu-ewy goodness, but seriously - bean curd?  Who ever thought that would be a good idea?

Last night was my first encounter with tofu, which, until this point I have been able to avoid.  The way that it is packaged, square and living in it's own whitish-watery juices (kinda like fetta cheese) is gross enough, and everything with that mushy moist texture is usually a million times icker when it's cold and processed.

I went out for dinner with Frank and his parents, because his mum has gone over to the UK to visit her mother for the next month, and last night was her last night here, so we had chinese.  She ordered a dish that i think is called laska? which is basically spicy soup with noodles, tofu and chicken.  Something we thought 'no worries, we can just pick the tofu out of', but alas, there were DIFFERENT KINDS OF TOFU throughout the dish, some bits even LOOKED LIKE CHICKEN! Unfortunately, they tasted like a mouldy bathroom sponge rather than chicken.  I am exaggerating a little bit- i can deal with the hard tofu that kinda looks like processed chicken meat, but the spongey one is just unnatural.

Tofu was a huge deal for someone like me who is soooo unadventurous with new flavours, generally because i have a weird inhibility to cope with certain textures, which Renee always gives me a really hard time about... I also tried Quail... you know, as in 'small bird'?!  It was an entree that we shared, and all I could think the whole time was 'oh my god, i'm eating someone's pet bird'... and 'holy crap, frank looks like a giant eating a chicken', so i had a bit of trouble swallowing (hehe get it - a swallow - small bird?!)... im so not funny...

I've been working stacks lately, at AES and i've been doing some temping on my days off, so i've been pretty busy lately.  more updates soon, I promise.

Peace out
